When images and text smear, smudges, or flakes off the page when touched there may be a problem with the fuser. The last step of printing is fusing. A fuser heats up a roller and paper is passed between a heat roller and a pressure roller fusing the toner to the paper. Smearing can also be caused by using poor quality toner or by printing on unsupported media. Never use generic toner or print cartridges.Item Inchttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13239310447772173244noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-182710175876384476.post-7745659428147220552011-08-21T19:15:00.001-04:002012-04-23T11:38:48.988-04:00Dell printing a shadow of text and images. Toner is sticking on a drum and is being re-printed. There are two drums it could do this on, one would be the OPC drum (which is part of the print cartridge) and the other possible one is on the fuser. The first step is to try a new print cartridge which is the most likely cause. If this doesn't fix the printer the next step is to replace the fuser. Also, make sure you always use genuine dell print cartridges and acceptable paper, failure to do so can result in ghosting and other issues.Item Inchttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13239310447772173244noreply@blogger.com0
